About The Classic

What is The Classic Events?

The Classic Events is a national B2B golf and networking tour for the cannabis industry. Each Classic is a one-day event at a championship golf course that brings together cannabis operators, brands, buyers, ancillary businesses and investors for golf, a brand showcase and a closing reception. The 2027 National Tour has six events in Florida, California, Ohio, New York, Michigan and Illinois.

Is The Classic a B2B event for cannabis executives?

Yes. The Classic is a business-to-business event, not a consumer festival. It is designed for cannabis executives, owners and decision-makers to build relationships with brands, buyers, operators and investors over a day of golf, hospitality and networking.

What are the best cannabis industry golf events in 2027?

The Classic’s 2027 National Tour is a six-market golf series built for the cannabis industry. Its venues have hosted major championships, including NCR Country Club (1969 PGA Championship, 1986 U.S. Women’s Open), Bethpage State Park (home of Bethpage Black, host of the 2025 Ryder Cup) and Cog Hill (16 Western Opens and the BMW Championship). See all dates and venues on the 2027 Tour page.

How is The Classic different from other cannabis golf tournaments?

Most cannabis golf tournaments are a single event in a single state. The Classic is a national tour: one brand partnership reaches six of the largest legal cannabis markets in the U.S.. Every event is held at a championship course, is built for business-to-business networking, and gives back to brain tumor research.

Who founded The Classic?

The Classic was founded in 2024 by James “Bo” Keyes, a brain tumor survivor and cannabis compliance and standards leader with roughly fifteen years in the industry. Bo founded cannabisstandards.com in 2012, holds a state-approved Responsible Vendor Training designation in Massachusetts, and chairs the Technical Advisory Committee for CSQ standards. Networking and Attendees

What is the refund policy for Classic tickets?

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Tickets are valid for the event they were purchased for, and you can change the name on a ticket at any time by emailing bo@theclassicevents.com. If weather affects play, we work with the host club to reschedule; tickets carry over to the rescheduled date.

Who can attend The Classic?

The Classic is built for cannabis industry professionals, and anyone 21 or older can buy a ticket. Brand teams, dispensary owners, managers and buyers, and service providers are all welcome; many companies bring a foursome plus a few networking passes for the rest of the team.

Who attends The Classic?

Owners and executives from cannabis operators and multi-state operators, national and regional brands, dispensary buyers, testing labs, technology and payment companies, and the banks, law firms and investors that serve the industry.

What are the best cannabis industry networking events in the U.S.?

Trade shows are good for seeing many booths; The Classic is built for real conversations. A day on the course puts brand leaders, buyers and decision-makers together for hours, with the 2027 tour running in six of the country’s largest cannabis markets. Many attendees come to one Classic in their home state and add a second market where they’re expanding.

Is cannabis consumed at The Classic?

No. The Classic is a cannabis business event. Consumption, sale and distribution of cannabis are prohibited on premises, and all attendees must be 21 or older with valid ID.

What should I wear?

Standard golf attire: a collared shirt and golf shoes or clean sneakers, no denim. Some host clubs have stricter rules, and we send them to every attendee before the event.

Sponsorship and Tour Partners

How do I sponsor a cannabis golf event?

Sponsorships range from a single hole at one event to a 2027 Tour Partnership with a presence at all six Classics. Packages can include hole sponsorships, foursomes, event title rights, brand showcase space and on-course activations. Email bo@theclassicevents.com or use the contact form to request the 2027 partner deck, and see the 140+ brands that have played The Classic on our Partners page.

What is a Tour Partner?

A Tour Partner is a brand that sponsors the whole 2027 National Tour instead of a single event. One agreement puts the brand in front of operators, buyers and investors in Florida, California, Ohio, New York, Michigan and Illinois, with spots limited each year.

Our Purpose

What charity does The Classic support?

Every Classic gives back to brain tumor research. The Classic donates to the Jimmy Fund, which has supported cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston since 1948. Founder Bo Keyes is a brain tumor survivor, so the cause is personal. In 2026, The Classic’s fundraising directed $3,500 to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, plus $1,500 to the Cincinnati Minority Cannabis Group, and our 2027 gifts are timed to Dana-Farber’s matching campaigns to multiply their impact.

Does The Classic host other events?

Yes. The Classic Tip-Off Series is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for cannabis brand and dispensary teams, with a DJ, halftime contests, food and prizes. Follow the Events page for upcoming Tip-Offs.

How do I contact The Classic?

Email Bo directly at bo@theclassicevents.com or use the contact form. Sponsorship, Tour Partner, ticket and media inquiries are all welcome. Journalists can find coverage and a media kit on our Press page.
